Facilities - Pathway to the Rockies Council

Our camp is proud to offer quality facilities for all those attending our summer camp program. Our council each year requests money through various grants and donations so that we can continually upgrade and improve our facility offerings.

Campsites

Currently we have 15 campsites at San Isabel Scout Ranch, 4 are designated for Rocky Mountain High Adventure Base. Each campsite is a little different, but the amenities are all the same. All campsites come equipped with the following:

Canvas wall tents
Platforms for each canvas tent
Picnic tables
Firepit
Fire extinguisher

There is sufficient space for Scouts to be able to spread out and enjoy a quiet relaxing moment while still within view of the troop. And since there is plenty of tree cover around your campsite, it will be a perfect location to set up a hammock or two for an afternoon snooze.

Each campsite has a sign at its entrance designating the name.

Multiple wooden platforms are at your campsite. On top we place a canvas tent with 4 walls.

Canvas tents will protect you from the wind and rain while at camp.

Multiple tables are placed at each campsite so as to be a natural gathering location for the troop.

All of our campsites have plenty of space for both you and your Scouts to be able to spread out and enjoy the surrounding forest.

Designated fire rings have been established in all campsites where your troop can gather to enjoy the crackling fire.

All campsites have latrines adjacent to them for easy access.

Dining Hall

Along with the program and activities, meals are included with your registration. Each day you and your Scouts will be treated to delicious food prepared by our experienced kitchen staff.

In 2017, we completed an addition to our dining hall. Our outdoor patio is a wonderful place to enjoy a meal or even just hang out for the afternoon. Between the patio and our dining hall, you and your Scouts will have plenty of space to enjoy each of your meals at camp.

After it's been prepared, you will pass through our serving line.

Troops will pass through this serving area on to the dining area.

Showerhouse

While we may be at camp, we must always remember that, “A Scout is clean.” Our 16 stall showerhouse has sufficient space for Scouts and adult leaders to be able to get themselves clean after a long day of fun and adventure.

When we built this showerhouse, we understood that times had changed from when the camp had first been built in the 1960’s. So, we made sure to keep privacy in the front of our mind while designing it. Each shower is an individual room with a door that locks. This gives each camp participant the peace of mind that they can shower in private.

For those needing an ADA accessible shower, please speak with a member of our administrative staff as we do have an ADA shower room available for those who need one.

Our showerhouse is plenty large to be able to accommodate all at camp.

With 16 private rooms, Scouts and adults will be able to shower in peace, privately.

Each room has a shower and a small standing area to change.

Several sinks and mirrors are available for those would like the extra space.

The Dr. Matthew T. Sumpter Medical Lodge

Our new medical lodge was completed in 2020 through the generous donations of volunteers and community members. This facility acts as a resource for camp participants when it comes to first-aid. Scouts are encouraged to handle simple cuts and scrapes in their campsite using the skills they have learned while in Scouting. When it goes beyond that, our camp health officer will be available in this building to assist.

Scouts will also come to this building each day to receive any medications they have brought with them to camp.

On the backside of this building are 2 flushing toilets. These are available for camp participants to use as needed.

The Dr. Matthew T. Sumpter Medical Lodge serves as resource for first-aid.

Flushing toilets are available behind the medical lodge.

Restrooms

Bathrooms are located throughout camp so that they are easily accessible at any time. The majority of our restrooms are vault or pit toilets. These are cleaned on a regular basis to help make them a more enjoyable experience.

Completed in 2020, the Dr. Matthew T. Sumpter Medical Lodge features 2 flushing restrooms on the west side of the building. These are open for participants to use as needed.
