Recognizing Commissioner Service

Recognition has been a fundamental part of Scouting from its beginning. Done well, it is a powerful tool that can help leaders set goals, define accomplishments, encourage skill development, celebrate commitment and achievement, and inspire others to strive for similar success.

Awards & Honors

Badge of Office – upon accepting a position and being registered as a commissioner
Trained Leader Emblem – upon completion of Basic Training course for your position
Commission – upon being selected, properly orientated and trained
Arrowhead Honor – may be earned within 1 year for each commissioner position held, must be properly orientated and completed Basic Training
Commissioner Key – may be earned within 3 years, must have Arrowhead Honor
Certificate of Commendation – may receive multiple times, must have Arrowhead Honor
Commissioner Award of Excellence in Unit Service – may be earned within 2 years, must have Arrowhead Honor and provide direct service to 1 or more units
Distinguished Commissioner Service Award – may be earned within 5 years, must have Commissioner’s Key
Doctorate of Commissioner Science Knot Award – may be earned within 5 years, must have completed Doctor of College of Commissioner Science degree requirements and recruit at least 3 commissioners
