Glen Aspen Ranch Leaf Patch Sale
Glen Aspen Ranch Patch with the new Pathway to the Rockies Council name are available from the Campmaster during your stay or from the new Council Office. The cost remains $3.00 per patch.
History
Pathway to the Rockies Council acquired the property in 2008 from the estate of Leonard Johnson Jr., a Korean War Veteran and long time postal worker in Colorado Springs, but the ranch has a very interesting history dating back to the 1890’s and the early homesteaders in the Woodland Park area. Karl Fohn, General Palmer’s personal gardener, owned the property for several years. If you would like to read more about our Ranch history, click the link to read the history prepared by our very own Carlos Perez, Campmaster. HERE
Facilities
We have a variety of campsites for our campers. Backpacking campsites are available along the ridge at the western boundary for those desiring a more rustic experience. We have several areas near the parking lot and no hiking is required. These sites are great for a new Scout’s first campout. We also have a 300 sq. ft. Training Building which is equipped with electricity, stove, refrigerator, microwave oven and coffeemaker for unit planning / training sessions at the Glen Aspen Ranch. We also have a spacious 2,400 sq. ft. enclosed pavilion available for rent for large groups. We have folding banquet tables and chairs for use in the Pavilion. We also have 8 picnic tables that can be used by any group staying at Glen Aspen. Click this link to see photos and a brief description of the buildings and campsites. HERE.
