
The Council Aquatics Committee has overall responsibility for the local council’s aquatics activities in Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing, and Exploring.

Required Leader Training
- Safe Swim Defense
- Safety Afloat
At least 1 leader must have Safe Swim Defense for any swimming event (indoor/outdoor) and Safety Afloat for all boating events. Both can be completed online at:

Supplemental Training
- Swimming & Water Rescue
- Paddle Craft Safety
- BSA Lifeguard Training
Offered through the council aquatics program. The BSA recommends that at least one person with Swimming & Water Rescue is present to assist with supervision whenever a unit swims at a location that does not provide lifeguards.
