Why Attend Wood Badge?

Wood Badge is an advanced, national leadership course open only to Scouting volunteers and professional.

The purpose of Wood Badge is to develop skilled leaders who can strengthen Scouting units in achieving the mission of the BSA. Units with trained leaders are able to deliver an improved Scouting program for youth today.

Program leaders AND committee members from Cub Scouting, Scouts BSA, Venturing, Sea Scouting, Exploring, as well as district and council Scouters are welcome and belong here! You will have an opportunity to experience Scouting in a way that will enhance your understanding, improve your motivation and increase your commitment. This course is like no other in its ability to bring Scouters together in a spirit of unity, all working toward a common goal.

Pathway to the Rockies Council offers this course annually, alternating spring and fall. You must be a registered Scouter or a youth 18 years old and have completed ‘Basic Training‘ for your position. Youth need not serve in a leadership position.

The Good Turn Ticket

Wood Badge Troop 1 Members do a Good Turn. Although we are just beginning another fun filled year, it’s never too late to start thinking about your Good Turn Ticket.

What is a Good Turn Ticket?

For all of our newer members, a Good Turn Ticket may be submitted to recognize any service you have provided to Scouting outside of your assigned position. For example, if you served as Campmaster at one of our council properties, that is a service to Scouting that counts. Did you help on an Eagle Project? Did you help on a training program, but are not a member of the Training Committee? These are additional service hours that Wood Badgers provide outside of their assigned positions, and entitle you to complete a Wood Badge Good Turn Ticket.

Why Should I do it?

The Good Turn Ticket promotes and recognizes additional service. We will recognize all who have provided Good Turns at the annual Wood Badge Feast.
